Did math & spelling assessments with 2nd graders yesterday, doing their best. Constant balance between “good effort” and “right answer.”
@AngelaMaiers Thanks! Just tried them. Now, I’d like to have suggestions for “aligned” people to follow and curate.
@AngelaMaiers I am looking for Twitter apps that weigh my follows, lists, and retweets to suggest people. “Similar” block doesn’t do it.
Viewing a Twitter list is like visiting another planet. Echo chamber. We need a “trusted curator” rating. Number of followers is irrelevant.
@ellenkanner Thematic is great. Customized child themes survive through updates, including functions and filters. And it validates!

@davidbudbill Will do. Looking for it now.
@kprentiss I’ve met with them several times, and know they’ve had experience of shifting reporting structures. I’m interested, too.
@jeffcram The institutions of higher education that move online experience to the core of mission, service, and marketing will thrive.
RT @jeffcram Thinking Facebook credits may very well be THE impact story of 2011 for digital.
@davidbudbill Welcome to Twitter! I’ll have to dig up that 1979 VT ETV video with you and Larry McCorry. (I worked on it and may have tape.)
@sillybean Taxonomies are great! Now, looking for a plugin to import a custom hierarchical taxonomy.

Less is more.
It does feel strange keeping my most valuable Twitter lists private. Seeking balance between open and closed knowledge.
After a major expansion of Twitter follows to explore leading edge civic and community media, I’m finally getting my lists tweaked. Great!
@sleary Thank you! I’ll try that. I’m starting to switch to plugins that support custom post types, and trying to integrate with core posts.

@wjdennen Finding the right balance between open access and controlled workflow is critical. I usually start wide and narrow down if needed.

@wjdennen I had some problems with Role Scoper some time back (2.8) and switched to core permissions with Edit Flow.
@Libmacbis According to the interview, over the 10 years, only 6 students have called in the guarantee, 5 by taking additional courses.

@LauraLTD Thanks, Laura! Bates online is now in very capable hands. Wish there was more time to chat yesterday. Many great ideas.
It’ll take days (weeks?) to go through all my notes from today’s #tedxdirigo and learn about all these great the people and ideas in Maine.

Twitter has been a real help in researching leading edge innovations in civic media and community-service journalism. A great curation tool.

Now that New Twitter is using an interface similar to my generic framework, do I have to change mine? I think so. Feeling validated, though.
RT @dweinberger Twitter showing I’m following 0 and have 0 followers, even after reloading the page. That’d be disappointing.
